DA is a site where the mature, savvy, sage and at times incredibly sarcastic member of the GLBT community may speak unrestrained. It is for those who have moved past the typical dyke drama which is too often found on websites aimed at our population. DA is a diverse group: we are lesbians, dykes, bisexuals and transgenders who are single, partnered, monogamous, polyamorous, young, not-so-young and with varied political leanings. While all of our site members are queer in some regard, it is not what defines our lives. We’re an online queer community with a twist. Our articles concentrate not only on queer issues but also on issues that affect us in our everyday lives such as current events, health issues or finance. Yes, we’re queer but we also have mortgages, careers, children and celebrity gossip with which to be concerned. If you've moved past the drama and on into real life, Dramanonymous is for you. We're an intelligent, quirky and irreverent bunch but also warm-hearted and welcoming. We come together to discuss the news, our navel lint, to find a shoulder to cry on or to just distract ourselves from the tediousness of the day. It’s a place to read articles that relate to your life. It's a place to connect. It's a place to pic whore yourself or your pet. It's a distraction. It's not much but it's better than what you're supposed to be doing. No moderator on the message boards?DA strives to retain an unmoderated message board. We wish for our site members to be able to speak freely in the manner they see fit without fear of retribution. Speak in the style you feel will get you the best reaction and the most positive response. Our primary moderator is the ignore feature found on the message boards. If someone is being a jerk to you in real life what do you do? You ignore them. You may do the same here. Please keep in mind that no moderation does not mean any behavior is acceptable. You may not act like an uncaged, over-caffeinated monkey and expect your behavior to go unchecked. The Golden Rule does apply here. Treat others as you expect to be treated. Please see the Terms of Service for some general guidelines regarding conduct. Uh, so what’s with the name?We get questions about the site name. Its origins are a bit suspect but here is the conciliatory version straight from the woman who coined the term:
Who runs this place?Ten thousand monkeys banging away at computers administer Dramanonymous.com. The dear little simians are very close to replicating a work of Shakespeare but so far have only produced this website. |
